WHAT YOU CAN SEE AND DO THERE

Bottle feeding a calfThe Hahndorf Farm Barn is a unique combination of a children's farmyard and a nature wildlife park that has been designed so that people of all ages can closely interact with a wide variety of tame and friendly animals.

On a visit to the Farm Barn you will be treated to a one-hour interactive show in the barn where, from the comfort of hay bales, you will be introduced to the Farmer's friendly farm animals one by one. We have two shows every day* at 11AM and 2PM or by appointment (* every day except the 24th, 25th and 26th of December)

A fun lesson on how to milk Daisy the cowOur show gives you the opportunity to learn all sorts of interesting and fun things about the farm animals and life on the farm. You can count Sam the Suffolk Ram's teeth. You will almost certainly see Daisy the cow being milked. You may even have the chance to try your hand at milking! And if the season is right you can watch a sheep or two being shorn.

You are free to wander around the barn and interact with our farm animals at anytime and at your own pace. We will encourage you to jump into some of the animal pens to touch and feed some of our more friendly animals. You can hold guinea pigs and baby chickens, pat miniature horses and bottle-feed baby lambs and goats. You can also say "Hello!" to Larry the Cockatoo. He is pretty cheeky and bound to answer you back!

Bottle feeding some baby goatsYou can also wander around our fenced Nature Park at your leisure. You can even bring along your own food for a picnic or a barbecue lunch. There is so much see and do at the Hahndorf farm Barn that it's very easy to spend a couple of hours taking it all in. You can
